Dear Heavenly Father,
I feel angry and hurt right now. Someone I thought I could trust betrayed me. I feel a major violation of trust. I feel confused and profoundly sad.
I know that no one understands betrayal more than you do. Jesus understands and experienced greater and immeasurable betrayal, even from his closest friends, who turned on Him in His hour of need.
I bring this situation before you, and ask you to help me forgive ___________. I’m not sure I even know how to forgive right now, but I know that you will lead me and guide me to do what is right and best. I ask for the wisdom to know what to do and have the grace to do whatever You would ask me to do.
Thank you, Jesus, that you are a faithful friend all of the time. I know that I can trust you completely and that you will guard my heart and heal it. I ask for your help to be obedient and I trust in you to lead me through this sad time.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
